What is Dragon Boat?

A dragon boat team works in unison to propel a long boat forward. Our crew consists of:

• 
  Drummer Helps keep tempo, makes calls during race.
• 
  Steer Uses a large oar to steer the boat.
• 
  Strokes First pair of paddlers; sets pace for the boat.
• 
  Paddlers The engine of the crew.

Team History

Founded in 2003, Stanford Dragon Boat has a rich history of competition.

• Major Regattas: We target ~2 races annually, typically the CDBA College Cup (Fall) and May Regatta (Spring).
• Roster Selection: Competition seats are determined by time trials and consistent attendance.
• Global Reach: Past international appearances include the Hanjiang Cup and World University Games.

Socials & Community

We are a tight-knit community on and off the water!

• Weekly: Board games, movie nights, study nights.
• Quarterly: Karaoke, Lunar New Year hot pot, and more.
